Engineering Program Manager
The Engineering Program Manager will be responsible for the coordination, monitoring, reporting, and delivery management of engineering projects in support of business objectives and on going operations. This includes project planning, estimation, execution, implementations, and ongoing support. The Program manager is to be the liaison amongst the various departments internally to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the product development and delivery deployed in support of business goals and objectives. The incumbent will report to the Vice President of Engineering.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting Engineering organizations to clarify their deliverables by appropriately scoping and outlining the detailed requirements of the work to be performed.
- Acting as liaison among various internal departments (Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Sales & Business Development) to obtain specific requirements, details of designed solutions, and resource commitments for the successful completion of projects.
- Work with stake holders to ensure project information is current and up-to-date. This will entail regular meetings with various departments to ensure and guarantee accuracy.
- Ensure projects are on track according to developed schedules.
- Routine communication within organization to maintain relationship and flow of communication.
- Gathering, defining, and assisting in documentation of detailed business and technical requirements.
- Measure and report metrics on overall delivery of projects and relationship to the performance of project management and other part of the organization.
- Identify and facilitate resolution of issues when they arise that threaten delivery dates or required project output.
Requirements
- Candidate must have at least 5 years in software project or product management experience.
- Ability to work across functions to identify issues and facilitate resolution to complex problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to multitask and work in team environment; work across departments, including strong peer level relationships.
- Sufficient domain knowledge to work with technical products and processes.
- Mature communicator of project risks and options.
- Ability to lead effective meetings and discipline to drive closure on action items.
- Works with high degree of intensity, follow through, and drive to results.
- Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and research skills.
- Must have strong record of academic achievement. Candidate must have at least an undergraduate degree.
