Only a formal assessment of messaging networks can determine the risks an organization faces.”

Directory Synchronization Service

Overview

Managing multiple or overloaded LDAP environments is a common challenge facing today's IT environments. As companies consolidate and expand, the added load impacts directory server (Microsoft Active Directory, Lotus Domino, other LDAP) performance. Without a turnkey solution to update and manage directory data, many companies must input this information by hand. With the Sendmail Directory Synchronization Service, companies gain a secure and automated solution to populate messaging-specific directories, reducing the load on IT and the directory server environment.

Description

Implementation of a directory synchronization solution (Sendmail Dirsync) to automatically consolidate and update directories. This includes sync with one directory or other data source.

Symptom(s)

IT organization wants to perform LDAP routing in the DMZ; the organization needs to consolidate data from multiple, disparate directories; Microsoft Active Directory, Lotus Domino, or any other LDAP-compliant directory is overloaded.

Deliverable

Sendmail Dirsync and configuration for two (max) source directories.

Benefit

By implementing directory synchronization, organizations can lessen the load on their existing directory servers, and IT personnel. Directory synchronization from multiple sources to a single source, streamlines operations through enabling centralized directory management.
