"Despite highly publicized data leaks, companies struggle to gauge what their risk exposure is.

Only a formal assessment of messaging networks can determine the risks an organization faces."

Sendmail Sentrion Gmail™ Security Appliance Solution for Google Apps™

Sentrion for Google Apps™ is an “all in one” appliance providing a 360 degree management and security for your email communications. The Sentrion Email Security Appliance is deployed at your site to eliminate unwanted or dangerous content from entering or leaving your organization through Gmail™. The Sentrion Gmail™ security solution enforces corporate messaging policies and regulatory compliance requirements and can encrypt sensitive information, perform Sender Authentication (DKIM), archive and quarantine Gmail™ (before leaving) based on your pre-set policies.

Flowchart

Solution Overview:

1. Incoming Mail: Internet email is cleansed at the company (designated) location using Sendmail Sentrion. During this process Sentrion eliminates unwanted or dangerous content, enforces compliance and corporate policies, encrypts sensitive information, and authenticates incoming mail. In addition, Sentrion can archive or quarantine messages (before leaving the company/user location) based on pre-defined policies.

Note: If only outbound email scanning is desired, incoming email will be sent directly to Google Gmail™ servers.

2. After the Sentrion has cleansed email, only "wanted" messages are sent to Google Gmail™ servers. Unwanted messages will be rejected and not sent forward.

3. As usual, your company uses Gmail™ to read and send mail.

4. Outbound Mail: Email sent by employees (Gmail™) is sent to Sentrion by Google Gmail™ servers.  Sentrion will, once again, eliminate unwanted content, enforce compliance and corporate policies, encrypt sensitive information, and perform Sender Authentication (DKIM) signing on outgoing messages.  Messages can also be archived before leaving the corporation.

Note: If only inbound scanning is desired, this step can be skipped and outbound email will be sent directly by Google Gmail™ servers.

5. After the Sentrion has verified, enforced policy, optionally archived, and performed sender authentication (DKIM), outgoing mail is sent directly to the intended recipient(s).

Solution Note: As mail flow needs evolve/increase, multiple (clustered) Sentrion(s) can be deployed.
